It’s difficult to recall a more fractious political backdrop in the run-up to the clutch of annual gatherings of UK political parties taking place this month. Each of the main parties hosts several days of speeches and debates that frame their policy priorities for the coming year. The divisive issue of how the UK leaves the European Union is far and away the most important policy topic, but tensions are further elevated with elements of the Conservative Party rumored to be dissatisfied with Prime Minister Theresa May and the Labor Party’s reluctance to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism causing increasing dissatisfaction among their members.
