Since the start of the year we have seen both emerging market local currency and hard currency debt continue to perform well following a challenging 2018. Last week’s FOMC meeting provided a further boost to performance, as the Fed’s dovish tone weighed on both the US dollar and US Treasury yields whilst tightening emerging market credit spreads. Against this market backdrop, we see a range of factors that could continue to support emerging market opportunities in fixed income.
