"The size of pension funds compared to GDP varied widely at the end of 2019, ranging from 0.1% in Pakistan to 191.4% in the Netherlands. Assets in pension funds exceeded the size of the domestic economy in five countries: Australia (132%), Iceland (167.6%), the Netherlands (191.4%), Switzerland (141.1%) and the United Kingdom (123.3%). By contrast, pension fund assets were below 20% of GDP in 44 out of 66 reporting jurisdictions."
