GSAM – Webinar – Carbonomics: China Leading the Charge?

15 April 2021 - 11:30 - 12:15

Webinar – Carbonomics: China Leading the Charge?

We are pleased to invite you to our “Carbonomics: China Leading the Charge?” webinar with Michele della Vigna on the 15th of April.

In this session, Michele Della Vigna of Goldman Sachs Research will present his latest “carbonomics” research on how climate change is reshaping the Chinese energy industry through technological innovation and capital markets pressure.

China’s pledge to achieve net zero carbon by 2060 represents two-thirds of the circa 48% of global emissions from countries that have pledged net zero, and could transform China’s economy, starting with the 14th Five-Year Plan. The country’s potential path to net zero could see US$16 tn of clean tech infrastructure investments by 2060, with the potential to create 40 mn net new jobs and drive economic growth across sectors.

During this 45-minute webinar, moderated by Gerald Cartigny, we will dig into where China currently stands on decarbonisation, why China is too big to ignore when it comes to climate change and why it is in China’s best interests to become a net zero economy.

We look forward to having you join us for this webinar and would be grateful if you could register your interest using the button below. Please feel free to share this invite with any colleagues that might be interested.
